These shoes are seriously comfortable and require no breaking before doing trying them on long hikes. They have plenty of cushioning for the sturdiness and support they provide. They are not good on ice or slippery rocks as you get very little traction but they perfect for summer/fall hikes.

Comfortable with good foot and ankle support

I have a very narrow foot by N.America&#x27;s standard. This boot fits me absolutely perfect. I never though I&#x27;d find something that comfortable, especially for hiking.
Tested them on a four day backpacking trip to Canadian Rockies this fall. Spent 80% of the time in a moderate rain. The boots stayed dry the entire time! (worn with silk liner socks and gortex pants over the top section). Some reviews on-line say they don&#x27;t have a very good grip on a muddy surface. I disagree. I had no trouble going uphill over muddy forest floor as well as wet stone surface. All of this with a 4yo on my back.
