I own the original Silver Ridge Convertible Pants in a different colour shade. I like them so much that I wanted to buy them again. I prefer Khaki type colours of my pants but they only had black in my size. It feels kinda weird for me personally to wear black pants, but it&#x27;s just a matter of getting used to I guess.

I specifically found the original Silver Ridge pants for the feature of zippable pocket. In the original version the front lower pockets are: one velcro and one horizontal zipper. This I liked. However with these pants, there are two velcro lower pockets with the right one having a vertical zippered pocket too.

The pocket thing was confusing from the research I did before buying these pants. I wish that they would have at least one horizontal zippered pocket for keeping my valuables (wallet etc). However, the benefit of a vertical pocket on these pants is that you can easily access your wallet while sitting (in a car etc.). I just wonder how safe the vertical zipper is. Hopefully I will never lose my valuables.

The rear pockets are velcro as well, which feels secure but if they made at least one more of the pockets zippered, it would feel more secure for me.

Overall the pants are very light and comfortable. My size from the original Silver Ridge ran the same and they fit perfectly. I have not tried to remove the lower leg parts since it&#x27;s winter here. Overall very happy with these pants for the price (thank you Altitude Sports for the coupon).

My daughter does not like women cut, so we ordered these pants in men’s. She loved the fit, the comfort, and we thought they were very well-made. The fact that you can turn those pants into long shorts, is ideal for a canoe camping trip where are you can’t bring a lot eight clothing with you. We will find out next Tuesday if these pants with stood her trip.
