Parfait !

The good: Lithium ion (no battery memory). Easy to clip onto boot (vs complicated Hotronic options). 3 settings (so I don’t think paying $50 more for the bluetooth version is that worth it). Small, light batteries (vs Hotronic). Rugged and long cord (my last Hottronics cord wore through because it was too short, and they unplugged all the time). 

The bad: No one working for Thermic has ever skied -20C to -30C Tremblant. They prevent frostbite, but that’s about it…even at the top setting. Anything warmer than -15, they’ll help. The Thermic 3 setting seems equivalent to the Hotronic S4+ 2 setting…and Hotronics have a 4th booster button when desperate. They don’t come with a wall plug, which seems to suit Thermic (international sales) than the customer (assuming you don’t want to disconnect the batteries from the boot every night, you’’ll need a USB A wall plug). For some reason, they put the charging input on the battery under the metal clasp that attaches the battery to bootstrap, so charging means putting regular and unnecessary stress on the metal clasp which risks wearing / breaking the metal clasp as time goes on. 

I really liked my Hotronic S4+ for warmth; the cords and attachment brackets were poorly designed (I switched only because the cord to the footbed broke and is now discontinued. I prefer the design of the Thermic (except for the ridiculous charging port under the clasp), but they’re not great at very cold temperatures.
