Raquettes montaineer

Researched a number of different snowshoes for my wife and this decided to pick this pair up. They were an upgrade over some cheaper ones that had broken prior. Super easy to take on and off, lightweight, good grip, and the hill accent feature works well.

Definitely worth the extra cost vs cheap basic snowshoes.

Not what I was looking for

Our MSR Lighting Ascent snowshoes got stolen and we had to replace them. Since we did not like the binding in the rear that would sometimes come loose and, more importantly, the fact that the metal sides ripped our pants, we decided to look for a different all around snowshoe. After reading many reviews we settled on the Tubbs Mountaineers. These are great snowshoes, and so far they hold true to the reviews. The only reason why I only give 4 out of 5 stars for the women&#x27;s model is that we live in the north and often wear heavy boots while snowshoeing. While the men&#x27;s binding is barely ok, the women&#x27;s binding is too small, and my wife cannot easily take the shoes off. I wished this would have been in the description, because I would have gotten the 25 inch men&#x27;s version and that would have solved the problem. I am planning on contacting Tubbs to see if they can help. Other than that, these are great snowshoes. I have used them going cross-country and uphill and would say that while it is nice to save on weight, it is not that important when you are snowshoeing.

Great snowshoe, but...

These are amazing snow shoes, they have awesome grips for climbing, and work totally well not climbing. 
I bought these in place of a different pair that flip the snow up terribly. These I don’t notice it at all.

Review after one winter season of use in Northeastern Ontario Canada: I love these snowshoes... they were a replacement for my old Tubbs women&#x27;s Altitude snowshoes whose bindings had worn out ....so I wanted a similar sized deep crampon as I use them a lot off trail in deep snow and also icy conditions up and down slopes of snowy hills... the crampons did the job fine and even when not needed while walking across a snowy or icy lake was easy work.... heel lift is great for hills...Easy use of bindings off and on saves a lot of time and frustration....great flotation and traction in any terrain....these had plenty of use in bushy/treed/rocky areas as well and were fine, with a few scratches on the frame but that is to be expected where either some terrain is difficult to maneouver in or sloppy footing.... more expensive than general snowshoes but a good quality product that I expect will last as long as my first pair of Tubbs ..... many many years.... so worth it!!.... and I expect they will give me dependable and reliable performance throughout!
