    Great shoes!

Ive been looking for a carbon plated shoe with room for my big toes - finally! I use an orthodic that is cut down after a metatarsal pad, so not a full sole. With the orthodics inserted it feels bit right on the top. When I remove the insole I'm not having that happen. Excellent shoe! I'm using te shoe to help offload my metatarsals ddue to injurry for daily wear.

    Vanish Carbon 2

J'aime le fit, léger, beaucoup d'espace pour les orteils. Le rebondissement est super avec la plaque carbone

Great if you can get them, and while they last

I mostly run in Altra shoes for both road and trail, so I like and am used to zero drop and wide/anatomic shapes. This is pretty much that, but with a responsive, modern foam and a carbon plate. I have extensively tried a bunch of supershoes from other brands, and this one may be a little less "super" than the top choices like Alphafly 3 or Adios Pro 3, but it's in the same ballpark, except it feels way more natural to run in and is much more comfortable if you're used to that kind of shape. I would happily run all of my road long runs in these EXCEPT: - They are not very durable. I have 366km on them as of this writing and while the upper is totally fine and they still feel good to run in, the outsole is very worn, with the midsole foam now starting to wear, and the carbon plate appears to be cracked as well. For that kind of price, this is not what I'm used to from Altra. I have more kms on my Endorphin Pro 3s and they are barely showing any wear, and with 200km+, my Adios Pro 3s and Metaspeed Edge+ also look very fresh. - They are very difficult to find. Not often in stock in the right sizes; it seems like Altra didn't make many of these.

    Altra Vanish Carbon 2

Best zero drop racing out there. Would have been great if they offer original foot shape, so I suggest going half size up.

Great supershoe option to keep your natural stride

I was looking for a "supershoe" to protect my feet + legs for an upcoming marathon. Long training runs and the race itself would take an excessive toll if I just used my normal Altra Escalante and Escalante Racer road shoes. The Vanish Carbon 2 affords the extra protection and some of the "pop" of the newer supershoes, while keeping the zero drop, stable feel of the rest of the Altra range. Much more stable side to side than the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 I also tried, but lacking some of the extra pop the Adidas (and presumably other supershoes) give, because of a less pronounced rocker and perhaps different foam characteristics. It does give back a lot more energy than my normal Escalante, although those are well-worn now so perhaps not a fair comparison. I was surprised to find the Vanish Carbon 2 quite narrow in the forefoot, much narrower/tighter than normal Altra shoes, and in fact a little narrower at the widest part of the foot than the Adios Pro 3. However there's a lot more room for toes and so I'm not getting any blisters with this shoe even for longer distances, whereas I get blisters after only a few km with the Adidas (and most other normally narrow shoes). No complaints about the upper otherwise, it's very light and airy, the tongue is held in place well; I don't expect anything will wear out too quickly (keeping in mind this isn't a trainer made to last 1000km), although I still have less than 50km on these. Lacing gives good options for locking the foot in place, and anything from a jog to fast intervals below 3min/km feel totally fine and comfortable. I would recommend this model to people used to zero drop shoes (be careful otherwise, this will put a lot more strain on your calves and Achilles tendons than other shoes) but wanting more protection and more energy return than regular Altra road shoes.

    Fast zero drop racing shoes

These shoes are for running fast. Springy carbon plate. Rocker bottom. Cushion feels great. Large toe box. True to size. Beautiful colour. Great value!
