The Ortles Edge Mid is a dynamic, lightweight and versatile solution for alpine mountaineering that gives a precise and supportive fit. Its innovative materials and technologies combine to make this product the best versatile offer in its category-allowing you to remain comfortable, yet precise. Furthermore, this combination makes it particularly lightweight, yet exceptionally robust to offer the perfect balance between durability and comfort, agility and protection. The abrasion-resistant Schoeller® nylon upper is reinforced with TPU inserts and rubber rand for additional rock and scree protection and our proprietary Salewa® 3F System reinforced with Kevlar cables for greater stability at the heel and ankle. For additional weather protection, the Gore-Tex® Performance Comfort membrane offers wearers both light insulation and weather protection in changing conditions, including slush or deep snow. The high-performance Pomoca™ Alpine Dynamic outsole was developed to ensure secure grip and traction on rock, snow and ice and good crampon compatibility. It features a precision climbing zone, S-path guidance for good walkability-and a special rubber lug design for improved grip. The double-density EVA midsole inside the boot provides good cushioning while walking and stiff precision on edges, while the customizable Multi Fit Footbed Plus(MFF+)allows you to further fine-tune the volume for a narrow or wider fit. On long days, with big descents, integrated shock absorption zones reduce stress on your knees and ankles. And the Ankle Protector System(APS)does exactly what it says-the thermoformed material heel cuff offers extra ankle lateral-support, especially when moving downhill.
