Very waterproof (kept me dry in drenching downpours), lightweight, packs into its own pocket for easier packing, and very breathable. I only wish it had more colour options, but otherwise one of the best shells I've ever had. I always stuff this jacket into my backpack whenever I go anywhere because it's lightweight enough to not be a burden and will keep you dry in any conditions.
This is a great jacket for rainy days or to wear as a shell over some layers. I was between medium and large and went with the large for layering (I usually wear medium). It is a bit long for my tastes, but the cut is pretty nice and the sleeves are the right length for me. The fabric is pretty light but seems durable. I can't compare to higher end jackets because it's my first real "quality" shell, but for the price I was satisfied with what I got. The pockets and hood are perfect, the only thing I'd change is to make it shorter and a bit less expensive, hence the 4 stars.
Got this jacket as a shoulder season and daily rain jacket and for the most part its been excellent. The jacket is super lightweight yet tough feeling. I love that it is very smooth and stretchy and not crinkly like other waterproof hardshells. The pockets are great, they are large and accessible for daily use, and there is one on the inside too. The hood and cuffs use elastic instead of velcro or a cord to cut weight and I haven't had any issues with them. The hood however, still has one cord for adjustment to prevent it from blocking periphery vision. Despite not having pit zips, the jacket is breathable enough I didn't find myself missing them. My only complaint about the jacket is the fit. The jacket fits true to size but the cut feels somewhat awkward and unpleasant for a daily jacket and something that would better suit a winter or heavier duty hardshell. It is looser and more roomy in the midsection while being very trim around the hem. This is great for keeping in heat and putting a bulkier mid-layer underneath but if using the jacket with only a base layer or thin sweater it can be unappealing. I wish the cut was either trim all the way down or more regular fit at the hem. TL;DR, this is a great jacket at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a lightweight, breathable, and sleek looking rain jacket for everyday or higher output use.
I’m impressed by how lightweight this jacket is. Easy to stuff in a bag and forget about until it rains. It’s a little big, but that’s also with a tank top as a layer underneath, put on a hoodie and it fits perfectly .
Although it might not feel as premium as an arc hardshell or another more expensive hardshell, It is by far the lightest and most breathable shell ive used. Its not magic, but it is very good. I would peg its breathability a bit under that of the ferrosi soft shell. You wont miss the pit zips!
Perfect light raincoat, comfortable, light and... Waterproof !
